Currently based in Amsterdam, violinist Alyssa Wright specializes in historical performance.

Alyssa has had the privilege of performing in a diverse range of settings, ensembles, and genres. She has concertized in Japan, the United States, Canada, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Belgium, and Germany. During her time at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, she was a three-time consecutive winner of the annual baroque concerto competition. She also is an experienced leader, having led ensembles as concertmaster in numerous projects at both the San Francisco Conservatory and the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. She has had the privilege of performing with ensembles such as the Netherlands Bach Society, Bach Collegium Japan, Northern Consort, and Concerto D’Amsterdam. She is a member of Kolner Akademie.

Born and raised in Japan to a Thai mother and American father, Alyssa studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she earned a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance, and a Professional Studies Diploma in Historical Performance. She earned a Master of Music in Baroque Violin at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Her teachers include Shunske Sato, Sayuri Yamagata, Elizabeth Blumenstock, and Ian Swensen.

Alyssa performs on an Anonymous violin made in Amsterdam ca. 1680, on loan from the Nationaal Muziekinstrumenten Fonds.
