Orchestra Lagrandt is a new symphonic ensemble devoted to Romantic and early-Modern music heard on the instruments and in the techniques of its times. We bring together young professional musicians from across the Netherlands to rediscover color, rhetoric, and flexibility in works from Beethoven and Brahms to Tchaikovsky and beyond. Led by conductor-composer Ian Arthur Plansker, our projects pair scholarly curiosity with stage instinct: historically informed, yes—but always alive, dynamic, and shaped in the moment. After our last season debut, built around Schubert’s “The Great” Symphony,  we open 2025–26 with Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 3 in a rare period-instrument performance.
