Ebony Lim is currently based in Amsterdam, having graduated with a Bachelor of Early Music (Violone) from the Royal Conservatoire, The Hague in 2024 under the guidance of Maggie Urquhart. During her time studying, she had lessons on the viola da gamba, 8' G violone, 16' violone and 16' Viennese violone. She has performed with groups such as Holland Baroque (NL), Northern Consort (NL), a nocte temporis (BE), BachPlus (BE), Bremer Barokorchester (DE) and Australian Baroque (AU).

Before moving to Europe, she was an active performer and educator in Perth, specialising in double bass. In 2014, after completing her Bachelor of Arts in Music at the University of Western Australia, in 2015, Ebony went on to complete a Graduate Diploma in Education. This led to employment with the Department of Education, Western Australia through the Instrumental Music School Services (IMSS) as a double bass teacher.

Ebony is also the founder and manager of Quartet With A Twist, a string quartet which regularly performs at weddings and events (and sometimes television) in both Perth and the Netherlands. She also has experience with arts administration, having volunteered with the Perth Symphony Orchestra, and has worked as Music Program Manager at St George’s College (Perth) and as General Director (COO) of the Zemlinsky Chamber Orchestra (Amsterdam).
