Lilian Haug is a Swiss violist, jazz drummer and composer. She is currently based in Amsterdam, but also works regularly in Switzerland and neighboring countries. She has been playing drums and viola since childhood and has gained a lot of professional experience over the years, both as a classical violist and as a jazz drummer.

In the summer of 2024 she completed her Master's degree in Performance with a major in Classical Viola and a minor in Jazz Drums at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with the highest grade.

In the Netherlands, Lilian plays in renowned orchestras such as the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, the Residentie Orkest and the Balletorkest.

She also devotes herself to her own projects, for example organizing chamber music concerts in various formations.

As a drummer, she plays with jazz combos at private events and public concerts.

In her own compositions, you can hear jazz and classical influences. As there are often improvised parts, the works are mostly performed by jazz musicians.

Moreover, Lilian fosters great interest for taking part in theater productions, as it allows her to use all her skills and creativity as a multi-instrumentalist (also with piano, singing and as a composer).

Keen to pass on her experience and knowledge, Lilian also teaches as a substitute at music schools and gives private lessons.
